The No Tickets Pizza Day
Of course there's a story. It was a rainy day and my husband and I drove into Manhattan with the idea of a Broadway matinee but the TKTS booth was sold out of whatever we'd wanted to see. We took off in the direction of downtown but passed crowds queued up for the Tribeca Film Festival! Yes! We stood in an info line, stood in another line to get tickets, and another line to be called for standby but left without seeing anything but lines. We headed toward the museum downtown again but got stuck in a lane that took us onto the Brooklyn Bridge. On the other side is DUMBO...and Grimaldi's Pizza! Was getting caught in the no-way-out lane accidental, Mark? Excellent pizza and NO tickets.

Heart of Darkness
Painted as part of a series. Just thought I'd share. I've been working on some series and larger pieces to submit to local shows. These are not currently available for sale.

Dos Havanese
This pair of pups with loads of fun-to-paint fur are my sister's beloved Havanese. They are on their way to southern CA for B & B's shared birthday. When I return from my beach vacation (YESSS!!) I will return to making paintings that will be available for purchase.

Inner Glow
Painted for a friend of fifty years who is turning 60 today. It reminds me of her. She glows within and without. NFS...just wanted to share.

Facing My Self
I'll be working on some figure paintings and interspersing some larger works. This is both and it is a self portrait, which is a challenge on both fronts. When depicting those I know well, I try to neither exaggerate or idealize. Isn't it difficult to see ourselves as we really are? I think this comes pretty close.

30 in 30 Days
This is not only satisfying to see in one frame but it truly added to my level of discipline, time management and confidence in choosing subject, colors, composition then getting on with it and leaving those brushstrokes to speak for themselves!
